All about the Preston Ely scam

Let me start off by saying that there is no Preston Ely scam.

Preston Ely is simply a guy who has made it to the top of his domain and too many are trying to follow in his success but don’t really understand what it takes.

Do you have what it takes?

This life we live is 95% mental. Problems we face are further edged on by worrying about them rather than use our brain to think of a way to get out of them.

The music we listen to and the movies we watch also affect the way we think. If your constantly listening to a music about robbing people and stealing to solve your problems, what do you think will cross your mind once and a while?

How is helping people a scam?

If you know of Preston Ely, then you should know about the Red Pill. Its a program geared towards making people wake up out of the negative thought COMA we’ve been put in by our society and the media.

HOW COULD a guy that’s makes almost 20 videos about a few things like how you need to build a stronger mind with stronger positive thinking, eat healthy (not Boston Market) and getting closer to God in these trying times, BE A SCAM?

Aside from the real estate, he is a very spiritual guy trying to teach the world the best way he knows, to be mentally, financially and spiritually free.

Call it how I see it

Where I think the scam part comes in is a boat load of people that think SUCCESS is like a stripper that’s going to fall in their lap when they pay some cash.

NO my friend, success doesn’t work like that. The only place where success comes before work is in the dictionary. Your not going to be successful til you get up off your butt and do some different than you did the day before.

Its imperative that you stay strong mentally. The fact of the matter is, many people that bought his programs didn’t take the necessary actions NEEDED to become successful. He gave them the path but they didn’t want to take the walk.

Men & women lie; Numbers Dont

On my road to success, I’ve come upon many obstacles. Times where I know many would have given up. Where many would have began getting together a resume and started looking for a spot in the rat race.

Yea I was skeptical about Preston too at first but it wasn’t him that I researched. It was what he was selling. The idea. FLIPPING HOUSES. I found out that around 80% of home buyers today, are investors paying cash money.

Their buying these homes and renting them out for cash flow but when the market get good again, they’ll sell to FHA buyers and the late bloomers who were scared to invest in the market during the best time EVER.

I looked up on MLS and saw that in some zip codes, there were nearly 50 cash transactions in a 90 day span.

Next stop, LOSERVILLE… Will you keep going?

Now comes the hard part. When you first started driving, did your parents just let you have the car anytime because your this amazing driver? HECK NO! My mom didn’t even want me looking at the car thinking about driving.

You had to earn their trust and respect right? Get your foot through the door and show that your capable of driving here and there without any problems.

Well the same aspect applies to real estate. Do you think an investor is just going to spend 25k with you just because you say you sell houses? HECK NO THEY AREN’T!

Don’t get me wrong. Some will but this business is about BUILDING RELATIONSHIPS. Finding an investor(s) and making them feel like their the most important person in your whole list of buyers. I mean, you don’t have to call them up every week asking them how their doing but shoot them an email sometimes.

Can you handle the truth?

Flipping houses is hard if you don’t have what it takes. You have to understand that this game is for the most part, MENTAL. That’s where the Red Pill comes in at and that’s why I feel Preston is a stand up guy for even sharing that with the world. That and Freedomsoft.

This guy could have been completely selfish and kept both the Red Pill and Freedomsoft to himself but he felt he could do something great for the world and he did. Plus make a truck load of moula!

Now I do feel that he charges too much sometimes, but he sells out usually in a matter of days so you go head Preston.

People need to realize that everything that didn’t work for them ISN’T A SCAM. I stopped calling secret shopping and letter stuffing scams because they didn’t work for me. I had the proper tools. I just didn’t put any action forward and being successful with those ventures.

Who am I to say that no one has been successful with those methods. STOP calling something a SCAM because you weren’t successful at it or you heard someone else call it a scam.

I can tell you that flipping houses is NOT A SCAM. Its just a mental process of getting your foot through the door. In saying that, the Preston Ely scam is obsolete to me. Try his easiest program out and see. Probates by Preston is the easiest course because you can get your leads for free. The marketing is what costs. Remember that. It’s not a scam but having had his flipping e-book(which i got for free from someone) he doesn’t give all the details of how difficult it is to wholesale…So many more factors are involved when it comes to assigning a contract but he simplifes it all and makes it seem like the avg 9-5 working guy can make a killing when in fact, it’s impossible…

  • Jorge on August 17, 2011

Also, he made his money when the Tampa market was hot..while wholesaling can work in any market, you won’t make the profits like he did when it’s slow..this might all be common sense to an investor but he doesn’t tell you any of this..His whole thing is basically: 1.Find fixer upper. 2.Put under contract 3. Find an end buyer to assign contract to..Ha! If only it were that simple..What about the in between steps Mr. Ely or the numerous pitfalls that await? Oh, that’s right, reality doesn’t make for slick marketing..

  • Dennis on August 18, 2011

Its not impossible because I’ve done it. Like you say though. There are issues like back taxes, liens etc, that come up during the title search that can kill a deal. I’ve had this happen a few times. Great deals but couldn’t get them to the closing table.

LOL… Yea your right.. I guess that’s where the live and learn kicks in. I’m planning to write and ebook on just what it really takes to succeed in real estate these days.

It’s not as easy to find a fixer upper as it was in the mid 2000′s but there are a lot of ways to make money in real estate that aren’t really being taught
