Dennis Marshall about me

First off, my name is Dennis Marshall. Remember that name OK.  I’m a young entrepreneur just trying make a name for myself.

I woke up one day and decided im sick of working for pennies and making someone else millions. I stopped dreaming while I was sleeping and now I’m bringing them to reality. It aint easy, I can tell you that. My homie, Chris Bruce said it best

“Entrepreneurship is living a few years of your life like most people WONT so that you can spend the rest of your life living like most people CANT”

He actually read that from a book, but shout out to C. Bruce and swaggercheck.com for forwarding that to the world.

It’s tough out here on your own. I’m inspired by a lot of things. I lost my mom at 18. God bless her soul. Love you mom. That’s where the line to jump over from being a child to adult hood exists.

I didn’t have my mom there with me to help me jump over, but I do have a very loving family who took me in and helped me in every way they could  to help me make the right decisions.

Even with this assistance, I still made some messed up ones. Listening to Kanye’s “College Dropout“, I stupidly decided not to go to college. I tell people all the time:

The decisions you make between 18 and 21 play the biggest role in deciding your life

What you gonna do now Dennis the Menace?

I decided to start working at Wal-Mart saying “forget school. Kanye didn’t go and look at him” . I had no goals, no inspirations and no ambitions.

I was thinking only about the present and not the future which is one of the biggest mistakes so many people make. With that mind set, I wanted money right then. Who cares how much. Couple hundred dollars a week sounds good to a kid right out of high school until you get bills.

I just wanted money and I wanted it right then without having to wait 2+ years to start getting paid with a degree.

“If I knew then what I know now”

is the most used quote ever. I say it at least once a week. Jay-Z said it best you got to learn to live with regrets. You have to.

Now you can sit around regretting decisions for the rest of your life but you’d be wasting your life thinking about how to change the past.

That morning I woke up, I realized one important thing. That I am one of the most brilliant people on this earth. We all are in our own unique way. I can always do more today than I did yesterday.

Now I’m so inspired, I wonder where it came from sometimes.

Im so ambitious and my goals are set in stone.

I will be a successful entrepreneur in 2010.

I will be a millionaire by 2012;

and I will spend the rest of my life living like most people cant because I spent part of my life living like most people wouldn’t.

I want to thank you for reading about me. A few people I would love to thank for being there for me either for the good or bad.

Just wanna say thanks

God first of all, Mom (R.I.P.), Mah-ma & Mr Fred, Kasey & Carlos most def, Bobby, Deeka, D, Fred, Holly, C. Bruce, C. Mack, Candis, Kita,my loving family on my mom and dads side because with out them, I wouldn’t be who I am (it’s in my blood. LOL) Drake & Trey Songz (even though I don’t know them or agree with the views of their song, but they made the song that got me thinking).

Now if your name ain’t on either I forgot you or you really didn’t do nothing for me. Deep down, you know where you stand.

Came to a realization

Two thank yous that I really have to acknowledge and I know some are going to think I’m crazy, but they are to Marc Simpson (R.I.P.) and Micheal McNeal.

Their treating me and my co-workers like complete crap for over a year, made me realize that I was to brilliant to be working under them. I felt that life wasn’t right and knew there was something better for me than a “dead end job with benefits“.

I believe all of us were put on this earth to serve a purpose. You may look at the school janitor and be like “I couldn’t do that” but who knows; Maybe that person is serving their purpose and are they happy is the real question. I believe the road to success and happiness has one lane and the way to not being successful and happy has too many to name. Who’s to say that if you do go the wrong way, you can’t make a U-turn?  It can be done because really the only failures are the people who give up without trying.
